Rogue Wave Events is the trademark owner and organizer of the Big WaveWorld Tour. Rogue Wave Events was created in 2009 and is co-owned and co-operated by Gary Linden and Pierre Camoin.
Executive Tour Director Gary Linden, will use his extensive experience in big wave riding, judging and organizing surfing events around the world to lead the BWWT. Gary envisioned the BWWT for many years, and directed all efforts to launch the Tour. He is a role model and mentor for many of the best big wave riders today. His leadership and dedication to big wave riding are the keys to this event’s success.
Gary Linden was a finalist of the Billabong XXL 2002 for the biggest wave (paddle-in), Contest Director of the Reef @ Todos 1998 and 1999, Contest Director of the Red Bull Big Wave Africa 2000 – 2008, Head Judge of the Mavericks Surf Contest since 1999, Contest Director of the 2009 Quiksilver Puerto Escondido Pro (ASP WQS), the Quiksilver Ceremonial Punta de Lobos and the Billabong Pico Alto Invitacional in 2009 (those two events are part of this season’s Big Wave World Tour). Gary is also a former Association of Surfers Professional (ASP) President and Vice-President. Linden has also set-up the judging and scoring criteria for most of those events making him hands down the most experience leader for a Big Wave World Tour!
Tour Manager Pierre Camoin assists Gary with the organization. Pierre holds a Masters in Sports Management from Springfield College and has over 20 years of experience organizing skateboarding and surfing events. Pierre was the Operations Manager of both Reef @ Todos events and he has been the Technical Coordinator for the Mavericks event since 2004. Gary and Pierre have been working together on surfing events since 1998 and at Linden Surfboards for more than 6 years (Gary as President since 1973 and Pierre as Manager since 2003).
